Bear Pond Espresso has run out of a converted old candy shop in Shimokitazawa since 2009, built almost entirely around the singular vision of its founder, Katsuyuki Tanaka.
The signature "Angel Stain" is an intensely concentrated espresso shot, pulled with a technique regulars still debate — come with an open mind and low caffeine tolerance.
Small, intimate, and unmistakably itself. Hours can shift, so it's worth a call ahead.
