Arise Coffee Roasters was among the first specialty roasters to open in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, well before the neighborhood became known as a coffee destination.

The tiny shopfront still roasts in full view of the street, with a short bar for those who want a cup on the spot. Cash only, and no smoking.
